My fellow Miss Fits and I are very grateful for the encouragement and support we get from our followers. We realize that the continued success of our blog depends on you, so in an effort to be responsive to your needs and interest, I am excited to kick-off a new weekly Q&A segment. We will answer one question each week and our first question comes from Kristin L:

I would love to hear more about how you are training in preparation for your upcoming competition as well as how it differs from off-season training.

Thanks for a great question, Kristin! Emily wrote a blog post recently titled, “The Off Season” that details what we were up to for the last couple months and even includes four sample workouts. Now that we have started a new meet prep training cycle (10-12 weeks in duration), I thought it would be helpful to let our coach, Jim, explain how this training is different. I hope you like our video response below.

  2. Hi, I’ve been lifting heavy for several years, and I have recently started to look into doing a competition. Do you all have any info on your site for what to expect at a meet? … or can you recommend a “guide to competitions” that I can have as a resource? I don’t have a coach (I would love to find a good FEMALE coach out in Phoenix, AZ, if possible), so I am basically clueless. haha. Thank you!
