All of sudden, summer is gone and fall is here. How did that happen? Where did the time go? I know for us it was filled with traveling, family events and several unforeseen happenings that sent us all in different directions. But that’s life. So here we are, getting back into our training groove, seeing each other more regularly and the words “meet training cycle” have crept back into our conversations. Whatttttt?!? We just did a meet! Well, no we didn’t. It was back in June and with many of us looking to get another competition under our belts in the near future, that 12 week training cycle needs to start sooner rather than later.
What was so awesome about this last meet, was the size of our team. In addition to the Miss Fits, we had 8 other women compete. FOURTEEN bad ass, strong, female lifters from ONE gym. Take a bow Jim Laird, that’s your doing.
It’s an amazing and wonderful thing to see a group of that many women, of different ages, with different lives and different interests come together to share something so special. The support and camaraderie is so refreshing. Every woman is competing for herself, but you wouldn’t know it if you spent time with any of us in the gym or at a competition. We truly are doing it together. We are invested in each other’s successes, struggles and failures. But, we do it together and that, above all else, is what makes it so damn great.
So here is the very long overdue video recap of our last meet. Just watching it gets me ramped up to do it again. Competing as Team Gym Laird is just getting started and we plan to be unstoppable.
