Earlier this week I wrote about the pressure we put on ourselves and my belief in the need to accept that failure is inevitable, but accepting it with grace is the key to moving forward.
Following our last powerlifting meet in May, my fellow teammate and Miss Fit, Jen wrote a post about her less than optimal performance in this blog: http://www.themissfits.com/epic-fail/.
But you know what? She didn’t quit. She was back in the gym as usual a few days after the meet ready to start the work all over again, knowing that training would involve a tougher mental component as well.
And this time…she’s going to kill it. We all usually have off days in training but for a good six months her lifts have been solid, her form has been great and her work ethic is matched by no one. She’s good at this sport. Very good. And part of the reason she is going to make this meet her b*tch is because of the attitude she has. She doesn’t complain or lament about the past. She’s quietly plotting her revenge on the bar that let her down just a few short months ago.
Look forward to hearing how her “epic fail” turns into success at our next meet.
