We’re four weeks out from our next competition and this is typically the time in our training cycle when everyone starts getting a little twitchy. Some of us are craving more conditioning work, some of us are happy with recent gym PRs, others not so much. All of us have nervous anticipation.

For the veterans of the Miss Fits, this will be our sixth meet. Looking back at our first competition three years ago, one thing that holds true is the amount of progress we have all made. Many of our first PRs are now part of our warm ups or working weights. That’s progress. We have all gotten stronger and we are all committed to the process of training and making personal improvements.

We are reminded by our amazing coach that training progress is not linear, but has ups and downs, good days and bad days. Taking a step back from where we are now and seeing where we started has helped me appreciate this process. It never seems fast enough and to most of us, it never will. One of the things that keeps us coming back is the drive to do better, get stronger, and make progress.
