It can be hard to find good paleo smoothie recipes, in my opinion. But this creamy chocolate avocado smoothie from Against All Grain definitely passes the test. I leave out the ice and flaxseed, and use honey instead of dates (those things are expensive!). I also use low-pasteurized whole milk from our local co-op. If you can’t handle dairy, then stick with the almond milk, or maybe try coconut!
The couple of times I’ve made this smoothie, it has come out a little thick, but maybe that’s because I don’t use the ice. I’ve even increased the milk to 1 1/4 cup. I don’t mind it though. Still yummy! I guess it all depends on your taste, which is the nice part about smoothies; they’re flexible.
